You Got This Foundation, Inc., (YGT), has committed $2,000 annually in scholarships to Uintah Basin Technical College (UBTech) to support funding of basic skills training to students attending UBTech.

YGT is a 501(3)(C) nonprofit foundation committed to improve the lives of area students. YGT believes that connection is the best prevention and that by offering students the opportunity to receive necessary training to become program eligible is a great way to invest their resources.

With over 30 training programs available at UBTech, students are required to take basic proficiency tests to help ensure their success in their program of study. In some cases, basic skills training is needed to help students achieve the necessary competences in areas such as math and reading that are required before entering a program.

“As a foundation, we wanted to contribute in an area that would be meaningful to students,” said Chris Anderton, YGT board member. “The costs associated with additional training needed to become program eligible can make a huge impact in students trying to improve themselves. Those expenses alone may cause the student to walk away before even starting classes. We want to eliminate any barrier a student may have to entry,” offered Anderton.

“We couldn’t be more pleased to accept this partnership contribution from YGT. We value their desire to help students experience the power of technical education,” shares UBTech President Aaron Weight.

UBTech assisted 1,643 secondary students and 2,324 adult students from all areas of the Uintah Basin during the period of July 2016 through June 2017. Over 82 percent of students completed their program of interest during the same period. For more information on how UBTech can help you achieve your educational goals, visit UBTech’s website at
