Uintah Basin Community Carried Nearly 2500 lbs in Honor of Veteran's Day Written by, Derek Hopper (UBMedia) Several hundred Basinites braved below freezing temperatures to participate in the fourth annual UBTech Ruck Run at the Vernal campus Saturday. “We had 189 participants in this year’s run,” said Stephanie Carter of UBTech. “The runners carried a combined 2,490 lbs., traveling 587 miles, which is the distance from Vernal to Albuquerque, New Mexico.” Ruck is a term used to refer to the military packs. Student Inspires Roofing World to Partner with UBTech Written by, Stephanie Carter & Lezlee Whiting Last year Masen Holmes enrolled in UBTech’s Carpentry Program, he was in his freshman year at Uintah High School. “I want to have a career in the construction industry,” Holmes said. “Either as a general contractor, electrician, or maybe even an electrical engineer.
