UBTech sets a record at national SkillsUSA contest  By Stephanie Carter Uintah Basin Technical College students continue to be innovative examples of perseverance, participating in the first-ever virtual SkillsUSA National Leadership and Skills Competition. UBTech had a final medal count of 18 from the Utah SkillsUSA Leadership and Skills competition. UBTech students brought home nine gold medals, seven silvers, and two bronze. Historic UBTech commencement graduates 485 Written by, UBTech Uintah Basin Technical College virtually celebrated 485 students on Facebook, YouTube and on Channel V6 website during the college’s first ever on-line graduation ceremonies. During the virtual UBTech commencement exercises, 539 technical certificates were displayed individually on the screen to highlight each graduate. The unique graduation was the result of the Coronavirus pandemic, which put a halt to the school year throughout Utah and much of the nation in mid-March.
