Simplot Receives UBTech Connectivity Award

Jared Jackson, Simplot Phosphate mine manager and Andrea Smith, Simplot human resource administrator attended the June Uintah Basin Technical College board meeting to receive a special award.

College President Aaron Weight presented a UBTech Connectivity Award to Simplot for their partnership with UBTech and continued support for technical education.

Simplot has donated equipment, provides an externship to UBTech Heavy Duty Diesel students, and uses the Custom Fit program at UBTech to train their employees.

“We have enjoyed this partnership. It is our intention that we will hire employees from these externship opportunities,” said Jackson.
“Custom Fit has been a great benefit to us, it has saved us $15,000 in training costs this year,” Smith added.
