UBTech Announces Labrum Pump Repair Partnership

By Dylan Larino

Uintah Basin Technical College (UBTech) is happy to announce Labrum Pump Repair as their newest scholarship partner. Labrum Pump Repair’s contributions fund a new scholarship for first-generation students.

Labrum Pump Repair is a long-standing Uintah Basin business specializing in chemical injection systems for the oil and gas industry.  It is owned and operated by Ted Labrum, whose family has called the Uintah Basin home for five generations.

Ted Labrum, and his daughter Jess Kissling, decided to support students due to their experience at UBTech’s Junior/Senior parent night. They saw the number of prospective students interested in UBTech and noticed the various scholarships available and realized they could make a difference.

“We believe UBTech is a great place to invest our resources.” The father and daughter duo stated.

Having family and friends who own businesses, and partner with the College in scholarship opportunities, Labrum reached out to them and inquired how they could get started.

Labrum met with President, Aaron Weight, and Chief Development Officer, Heather Lowry, to visit about the options of whom this new scholarship could help.

“We chose first-generation students to be the beneficiary of this scholarship,” Labrum said, “we want to help additional students who may have not received financial opportunities to continue their education.”

“UBTech is incredibly excited to have Labrum Pump Repair as our newest scholarship partner,” stated Weight. “Ted and his family are great examples of continuing the family’s generational legacy of giving back to the community they love.”
