A Day in the Life Challenge

According to the 2020 Census, it is estimated that 8.9% of Utah’s population live below the poverty line. In honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service, UBTech would like to challenge those in our community who can, to give back. Take our “A Day in the Life Challenge” on January 18th, 2021 and live 24hrs live below the poverty line; spending only $3 for all of your food and drinks for the whole day. Then donating the amount you would normally have spent that day, or food items you would have eaten regularly, to your local food pantry.

U of U MLK Week January 18th – 23rd

“Good Trouble” is a term often associated with former United States Representative John Lewis. As a founder and leader of the Student Non-violent Coordinating Committee (SNCC), Lewis was the youngest person to speak at the March on Washington, August 28, 1963, and taught us young people must be the change they want to see by pushing and forcing older generations for equitable change. “I want to see young people in America feel the spirit of the 1960s and find a way to get in the way. To find a way to get in trouble, good trouble, necessary trouble.”
